The Mingo Central Miners picked up a huge win on the soccer pitch recently by defeating Class AAA Lincoln County, 3-2.
Senior Kelan Wallace led the way with 2 goals. Sophomore Kendan Trent added the other goal and also tallied an assist. Senior Peyton Sansom added an assist as well.
Donovan Johnson had 7 steals to lead the Miners. Diego Lopez added 6 steals. Wallace had 5 steals. Michael Kuhn and KJ Smith recorded 4 steals apiece. Trent registered 3 steals.
Senior goalkeeper Zack Krise returned from injury after the first 15 minutes. He played 65 minutes in relief and allowed no goals while making 6 saves.
Mingo Central will next play Bluefield at home on Saturday in a double header also featuring the Lady Miners soccer team.
