When you think of great running backs at Pikeville High School so many names come to mind: Deramus, Hackney, Bailey, and Coleman just to name a few. As of Friday, none of these great running backs had a better single game performance than Blake Birchfield. On Friday, Birchfield set the single game record for rushing yards when he ran wild on Lexington Christian Academy. Birchfield carried the ball 21 times for 350 yards and 6TDs. Birchfield led the Panthers to a 60-21 victory over the Eagles. His performance led him to earning this weeks Double Kwik Player of the Week!!
