Logan Falls At Winfield

The 6th-ranked Logan Wildcats struggled to contain the 8th-ranked Winfield Generals’ ground game in a 29-7 loss on Friday at Winfield.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Generals (4-1) scored on two different runs from Bray Boggs of 10 and 9 yards, respectively, in the second frame for a 14-0 Winfield lead at the half.

The Generals extended their advantage in the third quarter when Caden Beam found the end zone from 3 yards out to make it 21-0.

Logan (4-1) finally got on the board early in the fourth quarter on a Jaxon Cogar 2-yard run to make it, a 21-7 game, but that would be as close as the Wildcats would get. Winfield put the game away on a 44-yard touchdown run. A 2-point conversion pushed the final margin to 29-7.

Logan will return home to the island next week and host Nitro. The game is set to kick off at 7 pm.
