Westside Hopes To Get Back On Track Against 4th-Ranked Independence

The Westside Renegades (1-3) look to bounce back on track Friday, but the obstacle in their way provides a huge challenge.

The Renegades will host the Independence Patriots (4-0) on Friday in Clear Fork. The Patriots come into the contest ranked 4th in the WVSSAC Class AA rankings. So far this season, Independence has outscored opponents by a combined score of 238-8. Last week, Independence defeated Shady Spring, 68-0.

Westside has dropped three straight games after a season opening win against county rival Wyoming East. Kadien Vance will lead the Renegades into battle. Vance has completed 31-of-67 passes for 350 yards and 1 touchdown. He has also for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns on 49 attempts. Hunter Cline has 167 yards and 1 touchdown on 52 carries. Kyler Kenneda leads all Westside receivers with 15 receptions for 129 yards.

A win by the Renegades would put them right back in the thick of the Class AA playoff race. The opening kick is set for 7 pm.
