The Mingo Central Miners moved to 4-2-1 on the season by besting visiting county foe Tug Valley, 10-1, on Thursday.
The Miners, who are on a three-game winning streak, found the back of the net on 10-of-14 shots on goal. Tug Valley’s lone goal came on a penalty kick.
Kelan Wallace and Peyton Sansom each had 3 goals for individual hat tricks. Blake Stacy added 2 goals. Brayden Thacker and KJ Smith each finished with 1 goal apiece.
Sansom also added 4 assists. Wallace had 3 assists of his own. Stacy had 2 assists. Thacker and Draven Donahoe each added 1 assist.
Caleb Simpkins had 3 saves in goal.
Leading in steals for the Miners was Jayden Powers with 6. Donovan Johnson had 4. Christian Joplin and Mikey Kuhn had three steals each.
Up next for the Miners is a home match with sectional rival Pikeview. Mingo Central tied Pikeview in a match earlier this season. The match is set to begin at 4 pm on Saturday.
