Knuckles and Bryant Named Rising Stars

Each week D&D Sports will be recognizing top 2 middle school players from the previous week. This weeks winners are Jamere Knuckles from Pike Central and Maddox Bryant from Hazard.

Jamere Knuckles

A name that all football fans across the mountains should get used to hearing is, Jamere Knuckles of the Pike County Central Hawks.

Jamere is a three sport athlete, standing out in football, basketball, and track and field. This past weekend, Knuckles put on a show at the 2022 Belfry Middle and Williamson Health and Wellness Border Bowl.

Saturday, Knuckles would perform at high level and earn offensive MVP. Jamere Knuckles would go 7/9 passing adding 206 yards and throw two passing touchdowns. Knuckles also rushed for 36 yards for his Hawks offense. Defensively Knuckles recorded six tackles, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery.

Knuckles is a kid that can do it all. Expect him to deliver early for the Pike County Central Hawks next year as a freshman.

Maddox Bryant

Maddox Bryant electrifying run at the Border Bowl

D&D Sports fans have heard alot about Maddox Bryant. The young man is one of the most electrifying runners in middle school.

Earlier this summer, Bryant participated in the Kentucky Future Stars game against Tennessee. In this game Bryant walked away with the MVP award.

This past weekend Bryant participated in the Border Bowl and led his Bulldogs to a 32-12 victory over Shelby Valley. Again, Bryant won the Offensive MVP. Bryant had 5 carries and scored 3 TD’s.

All our sports fans need to keep an eye on these two individuals as they continue to receive awards the rest of the season.
