Scott, Logan Lead Local Teams In First WVSSAC Class AA Football Rankings.

The Scott Skyhawks and Logan Wildcats are off to a hot start this season and find themselves ranked 7th and 8th in the initial WVSSAC Class AA football rankings on Tuesday.

The Skyhawks find themselves 7th after a 3-0 start and will look to add to their credentials on Friday in a contest at Point Pleasant.

Logan lands in the 8th spot after a 3-0 start of its own. The Wildcats will host the Poca Dots this Friday.

The Chapmanville Tigers find themselves tied for the 15h position with Clay County and Nicholas County after a 2-1 campaign so far. The Tigers look to rebound from their tough loss at Winfield by hosting Nitro on Friday night.

The Mingo Central Miners sit in the 18th position with a 1-1 record so far. The Miners host Man on Friday at Miner Mountain.

The Westside Renegades find themselves in a tie for 21st place with five other teams with a 1-2 record so far. The Renegades look to find a spot in the Top 20 next week with a win over visiting Pikeview on Friday.

The Wayne Pioneers are currently 28th with a 1-2 record. Wayne can gain a lot of points on Friday when it hosts Winfield.

The WVSSAC football rankings are released each Tuesday. The top 16 teams in each class at season’s end qualify for the WVSSAC Football Championship Playoffs.
