The Tug Valley Panthers continuing its blistering start by mauling the home standing Symmes Valley Vikings on Friday night in Wild Wood, OH.
The Panthers improved to 3-0 on the season while amassing 300 yards of total offense while hold Symmes Valley to 75 yards.
Quarterback Elijah Fluty led the Panthers by completing 12-of-23 passing attempts for 172 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also had 52 yards rushing on 7 attempts with 1 touchdown on the ground.
Hubert Marcum led all receivers with 2 catches for 68 yards and 1 touchdown. Riley Damron had the other receiving touchdown on a 24 yard catch. Dakota Ooten had 2 receptions for 25 yards and added an additional catch on a 2-point conversion. Austin Smith had 3 catches for 16 yards. Ashton Davis recorded a 17-yard reception. Brady Brewer had a 12-yard catch. Bryson Elia added a catch for 6 yards.
On the ground, Smith led the way with 67 yards on 9 carries. Elia had 8 yards on 8 attempts. Adam Slone had 6 yards on 5 carries, including a touchdown.
Caleb Totten added a successful point after try kick to the scoring total.
Defensively, the Panthers were paced by Marcum, who had 10 total tackles, including 7 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. Dakoda Walker recorded 7 tackles, including 4 tackles for a loss. Elia added 7 tackles. Smith assisted on two sacks. Damron, Davis and Luke Bartram each assisted on sacks.
Unofficially, it appears that Tug Valley may be ranked 2nd when the official WVSSAC ratings are released. Up next, the Panthers return home to Bob Brewer stadium for a match up with the 2-1 East Ridge Warriors. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm in Naugatuck.
