On Friday night the undefeated #8 ranked Logan Wildcats hosted the Wayne Pioneers and they would end up leaving the game with an undefeated 3-0 record. Logan’s Jaxon Cogar has quickly became one of the biggest quarterback names in Southern WV. and Friday’s performance showed why. Cogar would go 15/20 through the air for 287 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Wildcat wideout Aiden Slack is quite possibly the most complete player in the Mountains, he impacts every facet of the game as he showed on Friday night. Slack was targeted 9 times for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns in the passing game. The veteran receiver also done some damage with his leg, he kicked a 37 yard field goal and went 4/4 on extra point attempts. on defense Slack made big plays all night, coming up with 6 tackles, deflected 1 pass and recovered a fumble.
One of the fastest rising names on the defensive side of the football in the Mountains is linebacker Bryce Davis, this Wildcat standout accumulated a whopping 20 tackles with 2 tackles for loss. Not to be out done, Davis’s counterpart on the second level Shelton Stone matched him with 20 tackles but would raise him with 3 tackles for loss.
Next week the Wildcats stay on the Island as they host a solid Poca team and then the following week on September 23rd they travel North to take on a very good Winfield squad.
