The Tug Valley Lady Panthers picked up a pair of wins in volleyball action to begin their season.

Tug Valley picked up a 3-1 (25-19, 25-27, 25-14, 25-16) win at Van on Tuesday before beating Wesley Christian at home, 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-15).

The Lady Panthers had a strong showing at Van in their season-opening win. Makenzie Browning had 6 kills and 2 aces. Bailee Hall had 6 kills and 2 assists. Kauai Messer had 4 kills, 1 assist and 5 aces. Mandi Milum recorded 3 kills and 4 assists. Andrea Newsome registered 1 kill, 3 assists and 5 aces. Haven Deskins had 1 kill and 3 assists. Jayden McMillion added 5 aces in the victory.

Tug Valley then picked up a straight-set win over Wesley Christian at home on Thursday. Browning recorded 4 kills, 1 assist and 1 ace. Hall added 4 kills and an ace. Newsome had 2 kills, 5 assists and 3 aces. Milum added 2 kills, 1 assist and 3 aces. Deskins added 2 kills, 1 assist and 4 aces. McMillion had 1 kill and 3 aces. Messer contributed 7 assists and 5 aces.

Tug Valley next plays on Tuesday by welcoming Man to Naugatuck. The match starts at 6 pm.
