Written By: Bradley Damron

The Scott Skyhawks continued their hot start with a dominating 41-6 victory over the Wayne Pioneers on Friday night in Wayne.

With the win, Scott moved to 2-0 on the season following a 34-19 win over Herbert Hoover the week before. Wayne was coming off a convincing 50-14 win over Tolsia but proved to be no match for the Skyhawks.

Quarterback Matt Frye had an incredible performance. The signal caller completed 16-of-26 passes for 248 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 8 times for 165 yards and 2 more touchdowns. Overall, he accounted for 413 total yards and 6 touchdowns.

Preston Cooper also had 77 yards on 18 carries. Carson Brinegar added 31 yards on five rushing attempts. Cole Elkins added 24 yard pass.

The Skyhawks will next take on Sissonville, which enters the contest 0-2 after a 48-6 loss to Logan on Friday. It will also be Scott’s first home game of the season. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm at Scott High School.
