Thursday Soccer Updates Golden Eagles kick their way past Cardinals, Lady Lions defeat Lady Kittes, and much more.

Boys – It was the Johnson Central Golden Eagles taking on the Martin County Cardinals. This was a back-and-forth type game until the Eagles were able to get it done in penalty kicks ending the game with a 5-4 victory.

The win moves the Golden Eagles to 6-4-3 on the season and a ranking of 5th in the 15th Region.  Next up for Johnson Central, they will take on the Musketeers from Greenup County on Saturday.  

The loss will drop the Cardinals to 5-4 on the season while the Cardinals rank second in the RPI Ranking for the 15th Region.  Lawrence County will take on the Lawrence County Bulldogs on Saturday.

Girls – In the 16th region, it was the Boyd County Lady Lions hosting the Ashland Blazer Kittens. The Lady Lions were able to defend their home field with a 1-0 victory. The leading scorers are listed below:

The win brings the Lady Lions record to 4-5-1 on the season as they sit in 5th palce in the 16th Region RPI rankings.  Nest up they will travel to Pikeville to take on the Lady Panthers of Pikeville on Saturday.

The loss drops Ashland to 4-8 on the seasons as they rank 8th in the RPI 16th Region rankings.  The Lady Kittens take on the visiting Montgomery County squad on Saturday.

Girls – The Belfry Lady Pirates traveled to face the Pikeville Lady Panthers. The Lady Pirates were able to come in and take over with a 1-0 victory. The leading scorer in this game was Kenzie Jackson with 1 goal

The win improves the Lady Pirates record to 4-6 on the season.  The Lady Pirates will travel to Hazard on Saturday to take on the Lady Bulldogs.  The loss will drop the Lady Panthers 4-4-1 on the season.  The Lady Panthers will host the Boyd County Lady Lions on Saturday.

Girls  -The Johnson Central Lady Golden Eagles traveled to the Martin County to take on the  Lady Cardinals. The Lady Cardinals were able to defend and come out on top with a 2-1 victory. This Lady Cardinals record improves to (6-4). The leading scorers in this game were Kaitlyn Gauze with 1 goal, Caitlyn Horn with 1 goal, and Lena Hale with 1 assist

Next up for the Lady Cardinals, they will host the Paintsville Lady Tigers on Tuesday.  As for the Lady Golden Eagles, the loss drops their record to 6-4-2 and makes the race for the number 2 seed in the 57th district extremely close.  The Lady Golden Eagles will host the red hot Prestonsburg Lady Blackcats on Tuesday.
