Pikeville 7th grader, Cadence Compton and 6th grader, Charlize Compton, are talented siblings that are making a name for themselves in Cross Country. The two Pikeville Jr High students have participated in back-to-back weekends in various cross country events in Louisville.
Last Saturday in Louisville, Cadence finished the high school meet in 8th place with a time of 22:26. Charlize ran the 2000m middle school meet and finished first overall with a time of 9:30.
This weekend in Louisville, Cadence achieved a personal best time in the 5K race with the time of 22:22. Cadence placed 54th overall out of 177 runners. Cadence had the best time of any 7th grader in the high school division. Charlize achieved a personal best time in the 4K race with a time of 16:54. Charlize had the 5th best overall time of all middle school students.
