Magoffin County Hornets sting the Bellevue Tigers

The visiting Magoffin County Hornet made the long trip to Bellevue, KY to take on the Bellevue Tigers.  Bellevue High School is in Campbell County located in Northern Kentucky.  The Hornets running attack controlled the tempo of the game and proved to be to much for the Tigers.

The Hornets were without QB Lucas Litteral in this one so in stepped star receiver Aiden Barnett.  Barnett went only 1-5 passing but connected on a 62 yard TD toss to Brad Standifer.  Barnett controlled the game running the football.  He ran for 152 yards on 8 carries all while scoring 4 TD’s.

The Hornet defense was led by their sensational Junior Ben Lafferty who had 10 tackles, 5 of those tackles were for loss, 1 sack and 1 interception.  Lafferty also participated on the offensive side carrying the ball on 7 carries gaining 73 yards and scoring on 2 two point conversions.

The Hornets pulled away from the Tigers winning 40-14.  The win moves the Hornets record to 3-0 on the season.  Next up for the Hornets, they will travel to Lawrence County to take on undefeated Bulldogs on the 17th.
