Johnson Central High School and the Paintsville Country Club played host to the annual Regional Golf Tournament. A beautiful day of golf played host to some great scores and a chance for some lucky golfers to qualify for a trip to the state tournament.
In the team competition, after 18 Holes, Prestonsburg and Estill County tied with a score of 328. The teams had to play a sudden death playoff ,where the top 4 individual scores were added together after each hole for a chance to head to the state tournament. After the first hole, it was the Estill County Engineers winning and advancing to the state tournament in Bowling Green, KY.

On the individual side of the tournament, it was the hot putter of Zach Watterson from Lee County High School that helped him shoot a 7 under par 63 to clinch first place. After a bogey on Hole 1, Watterson had 6 birdies and 1 Eagle over the next 17 holes to set the scoring pace.
In the Regional Tournament, the top 7 individuals that are not on the winning team will qualify for the state tournament. This year due to covid, 8th place will serve as the alternate. Below is the individuals who qualified:
